Hallo und willkommen!
"Spiegel" war sehr interessant (und useful! History isn't my strong point, so it was beneficial to have that brush-up right there.) Aber ich habe nicht so viel über Spiegel zu sprechen.
The wall in the head (Mauer in der Kopf?) article however was just depressing at the start, which made it really hard to get into. (And this may just be my upbringing speaking, but the person talking about enjoying life under a communist regime just came off sounding creepy to me, so I just have to acknowledge I have some degree of bias involved against them, which is also disturbing because it shows how indoctrinated I am in western values....)
The Ostalgie article was less creepy in my head, albeit I didn't hear anything beyond what was covered in the previous article. On the other hand, I saw the most amazing cross-walk sign in the history of crossing signs, so that has got to count for something.
Der Süden vs Norden texte war interessant, aber (not too thought driving at the start.) After sitting there and re-reading the article, I had vague memories of the history classes I took in the past come to mind, which correlates to the religious distribution in Germany (where Catholism is predominate in the South, due in part to how Christianity was spread and where reforms and the like took hold). Of course, the north / south wall jab wasn't to my liking, but can't win them all I guess.
Tschüss!
