Kultur 11 - Eric Vander Putten

I found the culture articles for this chapter very interesting. They talked about many things that I had never heard about Germany after the wall was torn down. I had no idea that there was still so much dislike for the easterners from the west and so much dislike for the westerners from the east. I had always assumed that after the wall was torn down that all of the people considered themselves as Germans and did not have many problems with each other.

The article about the south and north Germans not liking each other was also very interesting and entertaining. It seems like there is also that divide in America between the northerners and the southerners. I know many people from the north who consider the south to be uneducated and racist even though they have never even been to the south. It was interesting to read that those mentalities are not only an American thing.
