AMD 2 - Anna Kemeny

Für mein AMD 2 blog ich habe "skyped" mit meine Freunden, Caroline! Sie ist Deutscher, aber sie war eine Austauschschülerin an meiner Schule. We became very good friends and we have kept in touch since we were at school together. I tlaked to her for another AMD assignment in German 101 and was not able to say much to her. This time, I was able to talk a lot more to her, and I was surprised by how much of what she said I was able to understand, or determine the meaning based on what I knew of the context. We talked about all sort of things, how school is, what the weather is like, what classes we're taking. It was a lot of fun to talk to her in German after so many years of her talking to me in English! She speaks very good English and understand what it is like to learn a new language so she was able to help me with what I was trying to say. She also gave me a few pointers on my accent and on how to say some fun new things. She explained how she talks to her dog. She will say "Sitz!" to get it to sit down, "Auf" to get up, "Lauf" to go away and "Platz!" to stay. I'm looking forward to a lot more German sykping sessions!!
