When reading through the culture articles last semester in German 101, a common theme seemed to appear. "IF YOU AREN'T CAREFUL IN GERMANY YOU WILL DIE!!!" The theme continues in chapter 7. In each of the articles, ways of escaping death are presented. Firstly, I find the driving on German roads article to be hilarious. To find "You'll get a ticket or you'll die" in half of the driving tips is certainly a daunting proposition. There is also the fact that "all" German drivers seem to be more likely to hunt you down and kill you if you make a mistake on the road. All this seems to make for a wunderbar driving experience. The super market is deadly experience in different ways. If you choose the wrong type of food... you'll get a ticket or you'll die. You also have to watch out for the little old ladies that will kill to get in front of you in line. I know most of this is wild generalization, but it does make for an interesting read. So to all you traveling to Germany, take a piece of American advice, "Walk softly, and carry a big stick..."
