Once again, I find that these articles display a very stark contrast to what we might consider ordinary here in the United States. The article on cheap supermarkets has quite a few interesting topics. First off, if people were required to deposit money for a cart, even though they do get it back if they return it, people would riot. I also found it rather odd that they don't refrigerate or water their produce section, and that they are required to bag their own groceries and bring their own bags.
In the article about driving and lines, I found it amusing that there is such a contrast to driving in the US. Here you can pretty much get away with just about anything, but in Germany it seems like one wrong move and you basically just gave yourself a death sentence.
