It amazes me that the Germans believe that they wont have the window open to get some fresh air, especially when the dont have air conditioning. I dont believe that one can contract infuenza from breathing fresh air. This further perplexes me because the next article that states that the Germans are very skeptical to take medication because of potential side-effects. Every medication has side effects. Even an over the counter pain killer, such as Tylenol or Advil, can cause stomach cramping and other side-effects. It surprises me because the Germans invented aspirin, which has been proven countless times that this drug saves lives.

The sauna obsession is one that I have heard of before. This obsession seems to apply to a lot of European countries, especially western europe and Scandanavian countries. Studies have proven that a sauna visit every so often can be very beneficial because it allows the body to detoxify the body from potentially harmful toxins.

I have also heard that most students at the universities in Europe are quite older than the students in America. This is not only because of the mandatory military or civil service, but it is also because in these socialized countries, education is "provided" by the government (it is not really provided because income tax rates are like 50-60%, so it is already paid for).
