AMD 2

I listened to a podcast in German. It went on for about an hour, and I realised that with out seeing people speak, and facial expressions AND dialogue moving more quickly than in class it becomes much more difficult to grasp the meaning of things. I mean, you can hear the tone of voice and that gives away a lot of information, but we get used to watching a person speak or reading words that we forget how the language is different when it is just heard.
I enjoyed listening though after a while, because I stopped attempting to understand every word and translate it in my head and just hear the flow of sentences and the language. It isn't as harsh as many people think, and actually one woman who was speaking sounded very relaxing and feminine, almost like French at times.
Once you let the importance of knowing every word go, just listening becomes kinda nice to do. I recommend it actually if you want to become better at pronunciation or something, because it puts the language into your head, the sounds and the flow of conversation.
