Draftphobia... is it a real phobia? No. But It does make the authors point very clear. I had a roommate last year who wouldn't let me open our one window and I spent the entire term hot whilst she spent it cold. She was from Boston, so it wasn't a cultural difference, but an interesting one none the less.

I hear also that the saunas are unisex. Cool. It would be a very strange thing to start something like that in America, someone would be offended and take legal action ensuring the people who would be affected by the change could not participate. It's nice to see Germany is more relaxed in that regard.

It seems also that Germany is considering switching to the American version of Schooling as far as universities go... interesting. A dear friend of mine is currently enrolled in a Uni in Germany and she had 13 years of finishing school (or whatever the German equivalent is called) where as we only have 12. She hated that, the year I graduated she still had one more to go. I don't blame her!
