AMD 4 - Anna Kemeny

Für diese AMD habe ich mit meine Tante Janet gesprochen. Meine Tante ist ein Deutsch Lehrer und sie kann gut Deutsch sprechen. I've learned a few German words from her over the years, and it was fun to finally have a good conversation with her in semi-decent German! It'd be hard to retell the whole conversation but we talked for a while about my classes, activities, and interests, how our families were doing, what we like to do in our free time and what music we liked. Wir beide Flöte spielen und gerne klassiche Music hören. Auch, wir beide gern Geschichte lehrnen. We also discussed grammar and some of German's quirks, like these wretched adjective endings that I'm still trying to get my head around! We also talked about Vienna , which was appropriate as we have just learned about it! My grandfather is Austrian and was born in Vienna so we have a family history and some distant relatives there. My family and I visited Vienna and the house where my grandfather lived a few years ago and my aunt visited it many years ago. We also both went to see Schönbrunn, which was my grandfather's favorite castle when he lived there. it was interesting to discuss the city after having studied it in class. This was a great conversation and I hope to enjoy many more German phone calls with my aunt in the future!
