For this weeks AMD, I looked at some more German movie trailers, like we did at the end of the Computer lab last Thursday, on Youtube.
The first one I watched was "Das Boot" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db7aLLC9dH0]. This is about a submarine ship. It was nominated for 6 Oscar awards. The trailer is for the new BluRay version, there are words on the screen and spoken about new scenes and new sound. It looks like a really sweet movie, intense, the captian in the film yells "Alle!"
The next movie I came across was "Das Wunder von Bern." As I watched the trailer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z9XXeW1fI8, I recognized it. I watched the movie while I was in Germany two summers ago. Last time I watched it with English subtitles, but when I watched the trailer there was no translation and I was able to understand a lot of the stuff being spoken such as "fussball" und "nicht so schlect" und "ganz spiele noch" "jedes Kind brauchen einen Vater"...etc. The other film I had watched in Germany was Rosenstrasse, which was a very interesting movie as well and I would like to see it again as well only try to watch it without the subtitles!
The last trailer I watched was "Sophie Scholl, die letzten Tage" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeDmd_USYO8.] This movie in particular caught my eye because I have researched Sophie Scholl and found her particularly interesting in the resistence because she was soo young and a woman. I have seen die Weisse Rose which doesn't focus much on the end of her life following her capture along with the other members. I think this is on netflix and may watch it if it is still available on there when I find time.
