I didn't pause to consider that some of East German's residents might not have wanted to be united with the rest of Germany. I guess it seemed silly to me, why would you want to live under the USSR. However that is not the case, the article said that 12% wish the wall was still there. In my opinion I think that this separation will go away with time. When the youth get older and you don't have so many people living that remember the wall personally then I think that the separation won't be an issue. I was also surprised that you buy DDR T-shirts in Germany. I would not thought that the government would not allow them to be sold. Although maybe be they aren't as a big of deal as I think. I didn't know of the rift between North and South, which kinda makes me laugh because the article compared it to the American South.
