For This AMD I decided to learn some social network German lingo. I changed my Facebook page into German and experimented with what things were called, compared to what I knew they meant in English. To do this I went to the Allgemeine Kontoeinstellungen (account settings) page and changed my sprache (language) from English to Deutsch. I then returned to my profil (profile) to observe my neueste aktivität (recent activity). I had:
Anna verwendet Facebook jetzt auf Deutsch - Anna started using facebook in German
Hat Ellen Bernackis Foto kommentiert: „Monica“. - Commented on Ellen Bernacki's photo "Monica"
Anna ist jetzt mit Andy Modell und 2 weitern Personen befreundet. - Anna is now friends with Andy Modell and 2 other people
Hat Craig Belpedios Wall kommentiert: „happy birthday!!!“. - Written "happy birthday" on Craig Belpedio's Wall
Anna Kemeny wurde in Ellen Bernackis Album markiert. - Anna Kemeny was tagged in Ellen Bernacki's Album
It was interesting to compare the vocabulary that I knew in German to what I knew it was meant to say in English. It was also a good way to learn new words because I knew what most of the phrases, such as freudschaft aussehen (see friendship) and wie/kommentar (like/comment). Now if I can only figure out how to change it back into English......
