To be honest, I have a hard time imagining people kicking your car as they walk by. Other than that, I was expecting the strict road and parking laws, it seems to fit with the other articles we've read. Driving in Germany sounds stressful, but it also seems to be what driving in most countries would be if all of the rules were actually followed. Having said that, I still don't think I would enjoy driving around in Germany.

The raw, cheap supermarkets also sort of follow, but I didn't expect them to be dirty, with fruit rotting on the shelves. I would have expected the markets to be clean, but also boring, and probably difficult to navigate. It sounds like grocery shopping wouldn't exactly be a pleasant experience, especially when you factor in the troubles with lines in Germany and the lack of cashiers. The disorder in lines was unexpected, but I've become accustomed to being surprised by these articles. Some aspects of German culture seem to contradict each other, but the line-forming issues almost follow out of the brutal honesty of Germans.
