AMD 4 - Anna Schwiebert

Guten Abend!
Ich habe fur mein AMD viel Disney Lieds gehort. Alle sind interassant, aber (some) sind besser. Listening to many of the classic Disney songs was really interesting. Last semester I watched a few Disney things in German and I got a few words but there was definitely a lot that I did not understand. This time was great because I was actually able to understand a lot more of what the characters were saying. Some songs were better than others. I was able to understand almost completely everything that the characters were saying in "A Whole New World." With lines like, "Wir sind ein pair, fur alle zeit," almost all the vocabulary we had already learned. Also, as a side note, the singer that dubbed the song had a much better voice than some of the other singers I had heard."Circle of Life" was one of the hardest to understand as well as "Colors of the the Wind." The vocabulary was much more complex and the songs were a bit faster. It definitely makes it easier to understand if the characters are singing more slowly. I think that I will stick to ballads as they are much more clear. It also helps that I have heard these songs before so I know at least what is happening in the story and what the basic content of the songs is going to be. I recommend watching the youtubes of these songs just as good practice of hearing German and trying to do a little detective work to figure out what exactly the characters are saying.
