Kultur 9 - Emmerson Lee

Like previous Kultur articles, I found these three to be rather interesting, though nothing particularly special as I more or less expected them to follow common German stereotypes. This whole obsession with order and documentation makes a lot of sense in the event past documents are needed. I would have expected some sort of paperwork disaster, but I'm sure they have everything organized in a way that would make them easier to retrieve.

Although I find the quiet laws to be pretty nice, especially to someone like me who prefers things to be quiet most of the time, I also found some of these rules to be silly, especially the one about grilling a certain amount of times a month.

As for the fear of patriotism, I can understand why patriotism is such a taboo in their country. They seem to have accepted full responsibility for their actions, perhaps a bit too much. Then again with most of the developed world hanging the Nazi Germany era over their heads it's near impossible to just move on.
