I had no idea German stores had such short opening hours. Living in a country in which business often remain open until late in the evening is a very large convenience. I can only imagine the sort of torture moving from a country with good business hours to one like Germany...and the possible starvation brought on by it.
I assume Germans had a Father's Day like many other countries, but it was kind of a surprise for me to find out the twist they added to it. I've always known Germans to be big on alcohol, but to let a bunch of guys run about absolutely drunk is rather unsettling to me. I know I wouldn't want to be caught dead in the streets in a sea of drunk men, though it would be fun to observe from afar, and crack jokes about how similar it would be to watching a zombie film.
